A late fall, first winter snow photograph of a scene in June Lake, CA which is located in the beautiful eastern sierra's mountains on Hwy 158 (also known as the the June Lake Loop Road) off of Hwy 395 north of Bishop, CA and south of Lee Vining and near the entrance of Tioga Pass. The huge canyon backs Yosemite. The magestic mountain peak on the loop road is named "Carson Peak". and can be seen throughout the drive through the canyon. There are four main lakes on the road: June, Gull, Silver and Grant Lakes offering great fishing, camping, hiking and boating activities. It is a wonderful vacation spot! It is also the home of the June Mountain Ski resort. The artist once lived in June Lake. It is her favorite place and she often returns for visits and vacations. It has also been her inspiration and subject for her paintings and photography.
